360 pages, 5 long short stories - Stories about the harsh realities of life for some in Africa, seen through the eyes of children. In five separate narratives, each told from the perspective of a child from a different African country, Say You're One of Them vividly portrays the horror and beauty to be found in both the history-altering events and the mundane details of everyday life. In these stories of family, friendship, betrayal and redemption, Akpan highlights the tenacity and perseverance of his young protagonists. Akpan, a Jesuit priest, was raised in Nigeria and studied philosophy at Creighton University and Gonzaga University and earned an MFA in creative writing from the University of Michigan.

  Sikulu & Harambe on the Cartoon Network
Sikulu the Spider Sikulu is adventurous. He has no fear. He is sometimes quick to rush into things, but he’s loved by all. He is always on the side of good. We want to reflect the fact that Sikulu is impulsive. He’s more of an instigator, but in a positive way. Harambe the Hippo Harambe is more introverted than Sikulu. He also has no fear. However, he likes to be left alone. He is more introspective. He will often save Sikulu from himself. He is more patient and relies on his brains. He comes up with the plans. He spends a lot of his time underwater. Harambe is strong and we want to reflect that. Theme of the Sikulu and Harambe cartoon series Sikulu and Harambe help people. This show is targeted towards children who are between 3 and 6 years of age. The shows should highlight themes that are relevant to them. Let your imagination run wild. Try to develop stories around your childhood? What comes to your mind, when you think of your early years? Can you adapt that to television? Your Task: Develop story ideas for Sikulu and Harambe cartoon series. We need to develop at least 52 stories for a full year’s worth of shows. Just prepare one paragraph with the idea and premise of the show. The location and details are not important at this point. If we use get on to TV and use your show idea, you will be compensated for it.
